Robert Loucks Charts the Depositional Sequences of the Gulf of Mexico Basin

Robert Loucks, a Senior Research Scientist working in the STARR program, participated with Frank Brown on a study of the chronostratigraphy of the Cenozoic depositional sequences and systems tracts of the northwest margin of the Gulf of Mexico Basin. They developed a Wheeler chart that shows the depositional history of the Gulf along with associated biozones. The chart is a summary that is a quick reference for understanding the depositional history of the Cenozoic section in an easily readable display. This chart can serve as an informational wall poster. The chart and associated report (Report of Investigations 273) are available from The Bureau Store.
