Advanced Mineral Identification and Characterization System (AMICS)

The Advanced Mineral Identification and Characterization System (AMICS) is the comprehensive tool for automated identification and quantification of minerals and synthetic phases. The core of this software package is its innovative imaging and analysis capabilities. It uses Bruker's QUANTAX EDS systems on the SEM to collect the EDS spectra at each point depending on the different methods and automatically matches the spectra with the database of reference phases from Minerological Society of America.

Specifications:

  • Automated data collection
  • Capability to acquire data collection from multiple samples using custom fit sample holders.
  • Fast particle detection and segmentation
  • Large area Mapping
  • Access to comprehensive database with over 2000 mineral phases from American Mineralogy Association.
  • Ability to create spectrum tree for the classification of spectra.
