The Gulf Coast Carbon Center’s researchers recently held their mid-year summer sponsor meeting over Zoom with a creative twist: they hosted a topical poster open house.

The Bureau’s Visiting Committee recently came together for a virtual annual meeting, where they were briefed on how the Bureau has been successfully navigating the impacts of COVID-19 and industry downturn while still exploring new avenues for research and support.

In just over 3 years, the Bureau's educational radio program, EarthDate, has been picked up by 400 radio stations. Recording of this fall's upcoming season wrapped just this week, giving fans a new batch of interesting stories to look forward to soon!

Though the 2020 Unconventional Resources Technology Conference was held virtually, Bureau researchers made an impact at the event, presenting new publications and vital research results and conducting a unique online core workshop.

After months of shutdown, analysis, and preparation, the Bureau has taken necessary safety precautions and recently opened many more of its facilities for ongoing research activities. The threats from COVID-19 are real, and Bureau leadership has made reasoned decisions to ensure that returning scientists and staff can pursue vital research with limited disruptions and minimal concern about contracting or spreading the virus.
