    To focus the Bureau’s future water research and bring its extensive expertise and resources in the field to bear on addressing current water issues as they relate to the water/energy nexus, the Bureau hopes to launch a new research consortium—the Subsurface Water and Energy Laboratory (SWEL).

    Boy Scout Troop 31 recently visited the Bureau to learn more about careers in geoscience, explore important concepts such as topographic maps, minerals, carbon capture, and groundwater/surface-water interactions through hands-on activities.  The group also toured the Bureau’s renovated Core Research Center and Stoneburner Family Rock Garden.
  • 2020 AEC Best Paper Award

    Mohsen Ahmadian and David Chapman of the Bureau’s Advanced Energy Consortium (AEC) coauthored a groundbreaking paper which has won the 2019 Best Paper of the Year Award from the Journal of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics.
  • 2020 Gulf Coast Carbon Center Co-Hosts UT CCS Meeting

    The Bureau’s Gulf Coast Carbon Center (GCCC) recently cohosted the 5th University of Texas Conference on Carbon Capture and Storage (UTCCS-5) along with the Texas Carbon Management Program (TxCMP).
