Description
Over its nearly 100-year history, the NM Bureau of Geology has evolved and grown to address the state's earth science needs. This work is never really finished, as the geosciences advance and the state's natural resource needs change over time. However, as we approach our centennial year in 2027, the NM Bureau of Geology is challenged in fundamentally new ways as the state seeks to answer some of the most pressing natural resource questions that will impact the state's future health, prosperity, and resilience. Mike and Stacy Timmons will provide an overview of the NM Bureau of Geology, its many geoscience programs, and its role in the university, state, and national conversations about data and science-driven decision-making in natural resource management.
