The Bureau has a wide-ranging expertise in integrated basin and play analysis, quantifying remaining oil and gas potential of producing basins, and describing geologic controls on hydrocarbon resources in Texas, the offshore Gulf of Mexico, and eastern Mexico. Several benchmark papers were produced, including the Atlas of Major Texas Oil Reservoirs and Atlas of Major Texas Gas Reservoirs.*
