Description

Critical minerals play a key role in modern technologies and the global transition to a low-carbon economy. Although critical mineral demand has exponentially grown over the past decade, a decline in discoveries of new critical mineral deposits poses a significant threat to global economic growth. Critical mineral recycling, recovery as co-products from existing production streams, and extraction from unconventional resources can mitigate some supply chain issues. However, new discoveries need to be made to account for future increased demand. This presentation will discuss novel approaches to conceptual and empirical exploration targeting to guide the discovery of new resources.
