Analysis of Initial Fluid Conditions for Reservoir Characterization

In this module you will complete two of five tasks necessary to achieve the objectives of production-time-series analysis. These objectives are to determine the initial reservoir drive mechanism of a reservoir, understand the effects of previous reservoir production strategies, and understand how the reservoir architecture has influenced fluid flow. The two tasks are:

  • Analyzing initial and spatial time variation of fluid chemistry
  • Analyzing initial conditions for fluid contacts from completion, workover, logs, and pressure.

Module 13 covers the last three tasks, which are graphing production and annotating with production strategy history, mapping and analyzing time-series history of fluid production, and determining the flow direction of injected and encroaching fluids.
