Teichert
(1958) defines facies tract as “a system of different but
genetically interconnected sedimentary facies of the same age.”
This concept groups depositional systems into an order across
a platform depending on the characteristics of the platform such
as wheather it is a ram or rimmed platform. All the depositional
systems within the facies were deposits during one sedimentary
cycle.

systems are labeled.

systems of the platform. The alignment of the depositional systems
across the platform produces a facies tract. Projected
