Professional Appointments

Present Position: Research Scientist Associate I, Bureau of Economic Geology, The University of Texas at Austin (January 2016 – Present). Specializing in the collection of fluid inclusion, microthermometry, and SEM-Cathodoluminescence data: Extracting paleodiagenetic environments during fracture and microfracture development in siliciclastics.

Exploration Geologist and Owner, Spudlet Exploration & Consulting, LLC, Durango, CO (June 2011 – Present). I’ve provided geologic consulting for many companies, all of which are specified below.

Consulting E&P Geologist, Logos Resources, LLC, San Juan Basin (May 2014 – March 2015). Established a regional petrographic model from well logs to delineate semi-unconventional clastic reservoir quality for horizontal well development in the Lower Cretaceous Mancos Formation.

Consulting Geologist, Kinder Morgan CO2, Paradox Basin (July 2012 – August 2013). Mapped and correlated the Mississippian Leadville Limestone trend over 17,000 mi2 utilizing Petra software, ArcGIS, well logs, and published literature.

Consulting Exploration Geologist, Ridge Resources, LLC, LA Gulf Coast (June 2011 – September 2014). Upstream generation, evaluation, and field development for multiple productive horizons in 800+ mi2 of the prolific Eocene trend. Marketed, promoted, and brokered $22.2 MM worth of multi-field divestitures, seismic shoots, prospects, overrides, and minerals.

Exploration Geologist Intern, Barrick Gold Corporation, Carlin Gold Trend (Summer 2010). Utilizing clay alterations, mapped thermal gradients over a 500,000 ounce disseminated gold reserve which was hosted in Ordovician to Mississippian carbonates.

Laboratory Assistant, Department of Geology, Mankato State University, Mankato, MN (Spring 2008). Collected, prepared, and tested soil and water samples for various pollutants to determine the main source of Minnesota River pollution in Blue Earth County.
