Dollarhide field is a faulted, asymmetric anticline in Andews County, Texas. The chert-dominated Lower Devonian Thirtyone Formation is the most prolific producing interval, broken up into the West, North, and Main Dollarhide units with the main unit having approximately 146 million stock tank bbl of original oil in place (Saller et al., 2001). Saller et al. (2001) continue on to describe the porosities and their characteristics of two porous intervals and their facies within the Thirtyone Formation, including the effects on CO2 sweep efficiency and oil recovery. Saller et al. (1991) described five main different lithologies which largely control porosities found within the field. The paper also describes the different sweep efficiencies in each, namely the upper porosities reside within the upper dolomite that crosses several different intervals. This lithologies would be the first to be considered for carbon dioxide injection. The depositional environment, its influence on heterogeneity, diagenesis, and porosity development was described in detail by Ruppel and Hovorka (1995). Reblin et al. (1991) described the fault systems from a three-dimensional seismic survey. Serrano et al. (2003) found different seismic attributes, described reservoir compartmentalization of the field, and found that porosity-thickness trends are segmented by conjugate shear faults which would need to be assessed for transmissivity of carbon dioxide.
