As Information Geologist at the Bureau, I respond to public requests for information regarding Texas geology. I actively work with the Bureau's K-12 outreach program that includes the annual Austin Earth Science Week career fair, the annual Texas Conference for the Advancement of Science Teachers (CAST), and other activities.

I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the Texas Petroleum Technology Transfer Council (PTTC) program. The intent of this DOE-funded project is to facilitate exchange of information about technology, especially for small operators. Our position as "lead organization" for Texas allows the Bureau to interact with and gain insight into the upstream issues that the small independents face in Texas operations. The Texas PTTC provides technology transfer opportunities that address such aspects as reservoir characterization and improved drilling programs and wellbore maintenance that could ultimately lead to increased production.
