The annual Texas Aggregate and Concrete Association (TACA) Truck Rodeo was held at Capitol Aggregates on Sunday, April 28th. Bureau staffer Sigrid Clift participated in the children's events with a variety of rock- and mineral-related activities.

Children took advantage of lots of activities that included Rocks for Breakfast, fossil painting, making fossil casts, rock sorting, and digging for fossils.

 

Cement and aggregate drivers came from around the state to compete in the annual state championship truck rodeo contest. The drivers must maneuver through an obstacle course to test their driving skills. They are also tested on proper inspection of their vehicle and a written examination tests their knowledge of procedures and highway rules and regulations.
