"Thriving on New Challenges" is the theme for the Society of Exploration Geophysicists International Exposition and 71^st Annual Meeting planned for September 9–14, 2001, in San Antonio, Texas. The SEG annual meeting has become the premier showcase of cutting-edge, energy-related technology, with more than 250 exhibiting companies and 9,000 professional attendees.

The technical program, a centerpiece of any geoscience industry meeting, is charged with presenting the latest thoughts, ideas, equipment, and software. On Wednesday, May 23, 2001, 25 members of the 2001 SEG Technical Program Committee, led by Bob Hardage, will meet in the Bureau’s Main Conference Room to make final selections for the 2001 technical program. The committee will adjourn with complete schedules for the annual meeting’s oral and poster presentations, workshops, technical luncheons, and special sessions.
