The Data Center
Reading and Map Room, Geophysical Log Facility, and Public Information Geologist
The Bureau's Reading and Map Room contains a variety of print information, such as reports and maps, that have been purchased by or donated to the Bureau since the Bureau's inception in 1909. The collections include a variety of historical aerial photos dating from the 1930's through the 1970's, historical USGS Texas topographic maps, Bureau final contract reports, and U.S. Bureau of Mines publications from 1931 through 1989.
Visitors are welcome to review the materials at their own pace in a public work area. These materials can be copied for a small fee because the Bureau does not allow public users to check out these commonly irreplaceable items.
  Geophysical Log Facility (GLF)
The GLF is a repository for the geophysical data received from private donations, Bureau research projects, and the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC). Click here for detailed information.
