| Dr. Shirley P. Dutton is a Senior Research Scientist at the Bureau of Economic Geology, where she has been involved in research on the sedimentology and diagenesis of hydrocarbon reservoirs for more than 20 years. She has experience as Principal Investigator of several large, multidisciplinary reservoir characterization studies at the Bureau and has served as Prinicpal Investigator of the Clastic Reservoirs project since 1992. She was an American Association of Petroleum Geologists Distinguished Lecturer in 1986-87 and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Sedimentary Research. She earned a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. | Dr. Lesli J. Wood brings to the project an extensive background in clastic sequence stratigraphy at both the applied exploration and development scales. She has experience in drilling operations, interpretation of seismic, well log and core data, seismic attribute analysis, and evaluation of hydrocarbon system risk. At Colorado State University, where she completed her Ph.D. her research focus was in physical models of coastal depositional system response to base level change and fluvial deltaic deposits of the Cretaceous Western Interior. After graduation she joined Amoco where she obtained extensive exploration and production experience in South America. Upon transfer to Amoco's Exploration and Production Technology Group, she became a senior sequence stratigrapher and a member of the Seismic Attributes Development Team. This work included applied research in basins of Argentina, Brazil, Egypt, and the Caspian Sea area. Dr. Wood joined the Bureau in 1997 and is currently responsible for both field data collection and analysis and subsurface data analysis. Her other research interests include Caribbean plate tectonics and hydrocarbon systems of the eastern Maturin Basin, and submarine geomorphology. Her hobbies include music, music and music. |
