My primary research interests at the Bureau of Economic Geology (BEG) are geothermal energy production, carbon sequestration, water management, and the economics of renewable energy. In particular, I am interested in the spatial and temporal relationships between energy, socioeconomics, and environment.

I am currently working with Bruce Cutright at the BEG and researchers from Lawrence Berkley National Laboratories in assessing the potential in the United States for geothermal energy production coupled with carbon capture and storage using a high-efficiency supercritical CO2 turboexpansion cycle.
