A dredged canal adjacent to Caño Manamito.  Drainage canals are constructed to facilitate agriculture in the upper delta plain.   Artificial drainage, however, has caused pyrite oxidation and soil acidification in hydric soils.  This acidification represents an important agricultural problem in the region.
