brown hues east of Tucupita correspond to forested flood basins. Caño Tucupita is a
distributary of Caño Manamo that exits the channel and flows northeast at the town of
Tucupita. Caño Tucupita probably occupies an abandoned Late Holocene channel belt of a
Caño Manamo-size river.
