I am on a one-year visiting project at the GCCC in carbon dioxide capture and sequestration. My research interests include reservoir simulation and seismic monitoring methods. More specifically, through rock physics models, combine numerical simulation and 4D seismic monitoring to assess feasibility of 4D seismic, considering all the complexity of fluids, pressure, porosity and permeability.
To assess feasibility of 4D seismic, I intend to do reservior simulation in the Cranfield field after CO2 injection. I will then use rock physics models to convert the physical properties to seismic attributes and use an elastic wave model to calculate seismic response of the field.
