Pottsville Formation, Black Warrior Basin (07)

Alabama and Mississippi

Comments on Geologic Parameters

07 Top Seal Thickness:

To the northeast, the Pottsville is exposed, and the south half of the basin is unconformably covered by the Cretaceous Tuscaloosa Group and younger sediments of the Gulf Coastal Plain (Thomas, 1988). The Mesozoic rocks reflect deposition in coastal-plain to shallow-marine environments.
