Fall 2006 theme
is the construction of geologic knowledge through field work,
microscopy, and modeling. In a departure from previous years
we will use a published textbook that recounts the history
of the scientific discovery of thrusts as one starting point
for discussion along with (as before) readings of our own
draft papers, thesis drafts, etc. We are also planning to
conduct a class field trip at the end of the spring semester
(June 2007) in NW Scotland. More info to be posted August
2006. Class leaders: Laubach, Eichhubl, Olson, Marrett,
Bonnell, Lander, Milliken. Contact Laubach
if you would like more information.
