9 Hydrocarbon Production:

There is no hydrocarbon production from the shallow Tertiary basin-fill sandstones in the region. Several exploratory wells have been drilled in the deep Paleozoic section in southwestern and west-central Utah to test its potential for hydrocarbon production (Mitchell and McDonald, 1986).
