Fall 2012- Center for Petroleum, Energy Economics and Law, University of Ibadan invites applications for its graduate programs starting in Fall 2012.
Every May since 2001, CEE conducts New Era in Oil, Gas & Power Value Creation, an innovative knowledge and capacity-building program on commercial frameworks for the energy value chain. Since 2001, over 100 energy specialists from 24 countries, including Algeria, Angola, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, the Gambia, Ghana, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Namibia, Nigeria, Peru, Republic of Congo, Republic of Georgia, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Turkmenistan, United States, and Venezuela, attended the program, including 2 customized sessions - one in Houston for EMRA group and another in Bangladesh. For information about New Era, visit New Era program page.
New Era program features instruction, innovative business simulations, and visits to key energy facilities. Following the two-week Houston session, the New Era alumni stay connected with the Center and each other over the internet, exchanging ideas and developments in their countries and discussing energy issues.
The New Era platform was built upon and continues to be enhanced by the energy research and teaching activities undertaken by Center staff and outreach to the Houston and international energy communities. This platform increasingly allows the Center to expand its international reach, as indicated by the two grant awards received by CEE researchers in late 2003 and completed in August 2005, and a new grant received in September 2005.
