We poured a whole
pitcher of water near the headwaters to cause a flood. After the flood
we saw that the land had been flattened. This flat area is the flood
plain. Houses and bridges were buried or washed away. Sandbars and
the delta were moved. Even the river channel moved after the flood.
We were surprised how large an area was covered by water during the
flood.
This was the result
of our experiment. You can read about our methods
and see our worksheet.
